Yamaha Relit - the singing table lamp

Written by

HiFi components with multi functionality of the shot currently. Yamaha has found a completely new twist on this.

It started about a year ago when Yamaha launched the very special floor speaker relit LSX-700. A very slim design which is also a lamp. Admittedly, this model started some design vibrations inside - this is simply both innovative and elegant.

Now in late summer, Yamaha launched two new Relit models. This time it is table tops that are on the agenda, and they both of course  have lighting, in addition to being able to play music.

Let`s start with the smallest model - Relit LSX-70. Unlike big sister, this a very simple geometric basic shape - a cylinder with a diameter of just over 9 cm. It has the option of battery power, and  therefore suitable to be taken out on the terrace. Or in the boat.

Both sound and light are turned upward, and reflected in a cone at the top of the unit. The sound can be transmitted via Bluetooth aptX, or via a 3.5mm stereo mini jack. LSX is fitted with a 5.5 cm and a 4cm element, both full tone.

It may be the bigge sister LSX-170 which initiates the hottest Lifestyle vibrations. With a design that has clear B&O inspirations, this is quite delicious, at least in the pictures. And so there is no way but to commend Yamaha for having a distinctly ... ehhh ... bright idea on lydstage.

LSX-170 has a more conical shape, and this gives scope for much larger elements. It is fitted with a 9cm and 3cm. Also LSX-170 has a built aptX in addition to mini-jack, but it seems that battery option here is skipped.

All speakers in the Relit series can be controlled via an app from Yamaha, where you among others may control both light and sound - direct and via a timer function.
