Pro-ject is launching yet another box with RIAA stage. But it can do much more ...
This is of course far from the first RIAA-box from the turntable specialist Pro-ject. But in this box, they go much further. Here there is also a built-in A/D converter, which allows you to send the signal out via a USB port or an optical digital output. It suggests two uses for this - either the digital recording of the record collection, or for applications where one has a digital amplifier solution, and want to connect to vinyl. Lucky then that Pro-ject has also supplemented with an analog line input, so that other external components can be A / D converted. There is also a gain control which is connected to the USB port.
A/D Phono Box will be available in black and silver, for NOK 1795 - from July.
Read the press release from Ljudtema, translated by Audiophile.no:
Project is once again early in the game as a problem solver - this time with a digital RIIA!
In an increasingly digital world as it begins to be flush with digital inputs at all all-in-one systems people have at home and many do not have analog inputs anymore! The Phono Box S solve the challenge easily. The analog signal is converted to a really good A/D converter, and digital signal goes to an optical output. The RIIA section is also very good with both MM / MC pickups, and one naturally has a USB output with variable gain on the phono amplifier for precise recording of the records One would gradually acquire a more analog home system so it has naturally analog out as well. Finally Pro-ject has supplied a line-in for other analog devices, such as cassette players, and the like. How to tune the mixtape 1989 again?
