Davaar 75 is sent from heaven. For some… Featured

Written by

Linn brings Davaar 75 to the square, with big news. This update has the slightly less lyrical nickname of Build 360 (4.75.360).

For those not quite familiar with Linn's native language, we can state that Davaar is Linn's fourth series of software updates for DS streamers. And so we have now come to the 75th update in the series in this fourth main series, a series that started in 2011. This illustrates that we who are the owner of a Linn DS streamer are being provided with constant software updates. I myself have owned an Akurate DS since 2007, and have received most of the updates.

Big updates for Linn Selekt

This time, the owners of Linn Selekt are the ones who have reason to be the most pleased with the update, which became available on February 13. Here, both WiFi and Bluetooth are introduced, and it includes all sold models of Linn Selekt. In addition, SPDIF 1 has become configurable, and MPEG2 AAC has been supported for Selekt with surround module  .

Or as Linn would put it:

  • Wi-Fi network connectivity for Selekt (will work on all existing Selekt devices)
  • Bluetooth audio playback for Selekt (will work on all existing Selekt devices)
  • Configurable SPDIF input/output for Selekt (will work on all existing Selekt devices on SPDIF 1 connector)
  • MPEG2 AAC support for Selekt with surround module and Core 1 products with HDMI 2.0 and surround module

Other DS models  from Linn

Of course, the rest of us also enjoy Davaar 75, as we have done with all other updates in the past. But for us it goes more into prosaic things, like bug fixes and other minor details. This gets so narrow and for especially interested that I just serve a link to "Release notes" for DAVAR 75.
