WiMP launches WiMP HiFi Top 15 Album chart and HiFi Album of the Month.
Since the launch of WiMP HiFi in October 2013, thousands of customers have subscribed to the best sounding streaming service in the world for an even better experience. We are happy to introduce two new features this week.
WiMP HiFi Top 15 Album Chart
This week’s 15 most popular albums by HiFi streams. The chart proves to contain different albums than any other album top list right now, not surprisingly when we know the HiFi listener is demanding when it comes to high quality and that the age range could be higher than the average streaming customer.
The lists does not include compilations, best of’s, soundtracks etc, but albums made by artists to be listened to from A-Z. This list will be published and updated every Friday morning.
HiFi Album of the Month
We do think our HiFi listeners enjoy recommendations, and we love to recommend good sounding music as well. Now, we introduce ”HiFi Album of the month” as a regular concept in WiMP, finding records that sounds outstanding on almost any stereo system.
This month’s album is The Rite of Spring by the American jazz trio The Bad Plus. Their interpretation of Igor Stravinsky’s orchestral piece is no less than an almost perfect start for this feature. The rave reviews for the album also tells that this is something different and make this 100 years old music almost timeless and fresh at the same time. The album will be available in WiMP tomorrow (exclusive pre-release in Norway/Denmark, official release on Monday 24th).
WiMP have talked with The Bad Plus, and the interview will be published together with a HiFi playlist picked by the band.
