RC-1590 and RB-1590 - new flagship stereo amplifier set from Rotel
Written by Karl Erik SyltheRotel launch a new set of pre- and power amp in the top class. It concerns preamplifier RC-1590 and power amplifier RB 1590.

Rotel is one of the really old trotters among main-stream manufacturers. They've been in this game for more than fifty years, long enough that when we hear model denominations starting at RC and RB, it automatically pops up images of respectively pre- and power amplifiers on the retina. And this time it concerns models in Rotel`s absolute top class, where Rotel even implies that they compete with cost-no-object amplifiers costing many times the price.

RC-1590
We'll leave it unsaid about this claim, only ascertain that the preamplifier RC-1590 is a modern preamplifier that has both analog and digital inputs. It has a separate power supply for each channel, and according to the Rotel is selected high-quality components at all levels.
It should be low-noise analog inputs on the RC-1590, including a phono stage with RIAA for both MM and MC. The digital inputs are completely separated from the analog section and consists of DACerfra AKM with capacity up to 32bit / 768kHz, and can also play DSD files.
The Manufacturer suggested retail price for RC-1590 in the US to be $ 1,749.

RB-1590
The power amplifier RB 1590 is a monster that can deliver 350w pr. channel into 8 ohms. It operates in class AB, making stronger associations to the old model RB-1090 than the newer class-D amplifier RB-1092. It has massive separate toroidal transformers which are custom made by Rotel. You get both balanced- and unbalanced inputs, and two sets of speaker terminals.
The manufacturer suggested retail price for RB 1590 in the US is $ 2,999.
Both models will be available on the market in April 2015.
Neby import Rotel to Norway.
