Earlier this winter Onkyo introduced two new budsjettreceicers - the models TX-NR535 and TX-NR636. Now the time has come to two mid-range receivers. The biggest news is HDMI 2.0, which combined with HDCP 2.2 ensures compatibility with 4k video. Although this is no news in this generation, there is still reason to revealing inbuilt Wi-FI and Bluetooth in both models.
TX-NR838 is natural better equipped than the smaller 737, and has included pre-outs for all channels. This was dropped in the previous generation of the 7 series, and also goes for the TX-NR737.
Both receivers have Onkyo's own rom correction system, which excludes the right and left front channel. The other channels are adapted timbre balance to these speakers. A sympathetic variant, which might entice some of us audiophiles to also use room correction.
We do not know the prices in Norway for the TX-NR737 and TX-NR838 yet, but the suggested. prices in England of respectively 800 and 1000 UKP harmony with previous models in Norway - approx. 8 and 10 K.
