RECORD NEWS - New Blu-ray Audio from Naxos.

The major manufacturer of classic releases Naxos comes in November with two new releases on Blu-ray Audio.

Naxos is one of the few record companies that have chosen to invest in audio-only productions on Blu-ray. They have also chosen the perhaps most intuitive naming of his "Format" - Blu-ray Audio. Both albums have tracks with multi-channel DTS HD Master Studio.

The initial release consists of compositions by impressionist Maurice Ravel, and it is recorded with the Orchestre National de Lyon, conducted by Leonard Slatkin. The disc is called Orchestral Works, Vol 2, and you can read more about it here at Naxos . Naxos has also created an introductory video which you can see here:


 

Ravel also tend often to be involved in the main composition of the second of the Blu-ray Audio releases from Naxos this month, but not this time. We talk about Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, which Ravel has created a much-recorded orchestration of. On this recording, however, Peter Breiner which stands for orchestration, and eavesdrop on Spotify reveals that there is a slightly different orestrering than Ravel's. And it should not surprise.
