RECORD NEWS: 3 new releases from TACET.

Written by

The label TACET release three new records this months. 2 CDs and one Blu-ray Audio.

Les mer:

One of the CDs is a follow-up to the release we reported in the end of January. Again we find the piano player Christoff Ulrich recording piano sonatas on a double CD.

See this video where Christoff Ulrich tells about the scarlatti Sonatas.

Next release is a debut CD with the newly Ludwig Chamber Players, a chamber orchestra that focuses on music from the 18th and 19th centuries. On this new CD is the recording of music by Beethoven, Carl Nielsen and Johannes Brahms.

The latest release is a Blu-ray Audio, one of TACET`s specialties. It is not a normal BD-A, but a test disc which is suitable for optimizing a 5.1 abutment by listening, without making measurements.

Scarlatti Zwo

Part 1 received high praise and an excellent reception. Mirko Weber wrote the following in "Die Zeit": "Unlike Horowitz, who brought out the inner eccentricity of the pieces, or Christian Zacharias, who liberated them from the smell of mere glamour, Ullrich waits for the moment in which the music begins to float." One listener even asked the apprehensive question whether Christoph Ullrich could maintain this high level over the course of so many discs. This is a suspenseful questions! In any case, we are working diligently on the next parts, but always in manageable, varied portions. The second double-pack forms a large movement to Part 11 (out of 17) of the recently begun Scarlatti Complete Edition. With Scarlatti, it is a bit like the string quartets of Haydn: the later works might be more mature, but they are all good, right from the beginning. The project also includes a small video (click here).

As a leading company in the market for high-quality Surround recordings, we feel obliged to make devices available to customers with which they can orientate themselves more easily in this fascinating new world. Many questions relating to this subject are answered on our website (here in German language - English version will follow soon).

During the past years, the DVD Audio D154 "More Power and Ideas - For Your Surround System" has helped countless listeners optimise their systems for maximum 5.1 enjoyment. The concept of this project can be summed up in one sentence: Test your system without measuring devices - only by listening. Since several editions have already been out of stock, we are now issuing it again for you - on Blu-ray disc. Like its DVD predecessor, it is being offered at an especially reasonable price.

Hats off to this new EigenArt production! The debut CD of the Ludwig Chamber Players convinces listeners with its joy of playing, musicality and precision. Five nations (three Japanese, a Latvian, and players from Lower Saxony, Baden and Swabia) met in Japan one year ago and got along well from the start. One can hear this on their CD, from the first note to the last. The programme is enriched by a very original piece by Nielsen, at that time composed as a complement to the Beethoven Septet, and an adaptation of a Brahms piano piece scored for septet.
