New database of Universal Disc Players for Blu-ray and SACD
Written by Karl Erik SyltheToday, we present a new database of universal disc players. There is a list of all the players we know of that can play both Blu-ray and SACD.
Although we prefer to see a real unviersalspiller beeing able to play all three high definition disc formats on the market, we have been a bit roomy in this area. Since DVD-Audio is a format that is unlikely to have new releases in recent years and there is otherwise a limited number of releases, we accept players that only play Blu-ray and SACD. By the universal players that do not play DVD-Audio, it's mostly Sony who consistently do not play this format, as well as a few models from Yamaha and Pioneer.
In the summary, we have shown which formats the individual models can play, and if it has 5.1 / 7.1 analog outputs. We have also added a link to the manufacturer's website for more detailed information about the players.
We hope that this list is complete and will be maintained as new models arrive There are still great opportunities that we have overlooked some models, and appreciate tips about this from our readers.
