280D - new DAC in the Moon Neo series from Simaudio
Written by Karl Erik SyltheSimaudio launch a new DAC. We are talking about Moon Neo 280D.

The Canadian manufacturer Simaudio has a long career inside HighEnd audio. Ever since the 80s, they have produced electronics, and it is perhaps especially the amplifier series that has attracted attention.
They have divided their products in various product lines, where Moon Evolution tops hierarchy. But it is the underlying level Moon Neo we find the two newcomers for 2015. We start with Moon Neo 208D, a newcomer who places himself under the existing model 380D . It is an asynchronous USB DAC, which also has 2 TosLink, 2 S/PDIF and one AES / EBU input in addition to aptX and network input.
Moon Neo 280D can also be fitted with a MiND-module, which is Moon's own protocol for wireless, multiroom streaming. Mind is an abbreviation for Moon inteligent Network Device , where an iOS device stands for control of streaming from your own music library. MiND has a separate app that can be downloaded for free from the AppStore.
Moon Neo 280D can play files with resolution up to 32bit (via USB, otherwise 24bit) / 384kHz. It can also play DSD up to DSD256 via USB.
280D will be available in March 2015, and Oslo Hi-Fi Center is distributor in Norway.
