RECORD NEWS - New release in Pure Audio Blu-ray from 2L.
Written by Karl Erik Sylthe2L has an upcoming release on Pure Audio Blu-ray. The title is Symphonies of Wind Instruments, and the performance is the Royal Norwegian Navy Band.
This is produced as a two-disc release, with hybrid multichannel SACD on one disc, and Blu-ray on the other. Blu-ray disk has stereo LPCM track with the 192/24, while the multichannel track is DTS HD MA, also in 192/24.
There are compositions by Hindemith, Schoenberg, Wallin and Stravinsky, performed by the Royal Norwegian Navy Band. Director is Ingar Heine Bergby.
By layout diagrams for the recordings we can see that the circular formation that has become so obligatory for Morten Lindberg is in place also here. But without full circle, as in some of the other releases from 2L.
It is recorded in the Jar Church in April 2013, while the release is set for February 2014.
