Pro-Ject Maia - Super Compact integrated with additional expertise from Pro-Ject.

Written by

Pro-Ject has launched yet another small, compact box. This time it is claimed to be an audiophile integrated amplifier inside.

Maia is an acronym for My audiophile integrated Amplifier. It is a reasonably hard bid in a box that weighs 1.25 kg and has strategic dimensions of 206 x 36 x 150mm. And that is not enough, there is an asynchronous USB DAC inside, with a capacity of 24bit / 192kHz. It is also coax- and optical digital inputs.

Want even more? How about an aptX receiver that can receive bluetooth signal. The APTX -converter has A2DP profile, and the DA-converter is a Cirrus Logic CS4344.

The amplifier delivers 25 watts per. channel into 8 ohms, and 37 watts at 4 ohms. It has a RIAA stage for MM and 3 regular analog inputs. Pre-out it has also been miraculously space for, in addition to a headphone output on the front.

We`ll come back with a review of Pro-ject MaiA in september.

Pro-Ject Maia available in black or silver, for NOK 4.495, -.
