A few weeks ago we published an article about Electrocompaniet's major investment in the Lifestyle segment, EC Living . This new range of wireless, compact components are initially developed for Altibox and offered soon to 330.000 clients with this provider. From August it will be offered to the entire market, both in Norway and abroad. But the driving force in Electrocompaniet, Mikal Dreggevik, has visions that goes very much further than this, and they have already developed smartly-boxes in cooperation with Lyse Nett. These are boxes that can control both light and heat, as well as audio and video with the same remote. This is called Smart-house solutions by others.

Dreggevik have visions that the concepts in this segment will be launched on the world market. This means that Electrocompaniet will expand its repertoire to operate in a niche market to be in the volume market. This requires expansion and Electrocompaniet has already started this great initiative. Floor surface of Tau increased from approx. 3.000m2 - to about double, and investment around 35 million NOK is on its way.

Most of the work on the premises of Tau is performed by robots, but there is still a clear need for expanding the staff to meet this great initiative.

Mikal Dreggevik says this to Audiophile.no:

We are planning for significant growth, and we need to strengthen our team. We now counts about 180 people in our company on Tau, but we need many more both in Norway, USA and India.

We can provide jobs in all these localizations. Employees in Norway can get longer or shorter stays in our development in Silicon Valley, California, USA. There may be extra tempting now after the rather wet winter.
