Ruark R7 - an exceptional music machine

Written by
There is rarely a product evokes a big appetite based on looks alone. With R7 Ruark has managed to create something very special.

Ruark claims to have worked for 3 years with this device, and now the time of launch is aproaching. The device has very clear lines of the late functionalism of the 60s. This is nothing new nowadays. What is new is that they have used this alignment to create a complete music system where you can choose between the appearance of a relatively large table radio, or even more interesting - a floor model that would fit in an interior of Arne Jacobsen.

We recognize of course that we know nothig about the sound of this unit. But it is very promising that Ruark is a reputated company with a background in serious speaker design. As speakers R7, they have chosen a Dual Consentric design, a concept that mayby is best known from Tannoy using this in the more exclusive of their series. In this case we are talking about a tweeter placed at the center of a 5.5-inch midrange / woofer. This is complemented by an 8-inch subwoofer, not exactly your average table radio. The same applies to a match weight of 30kg.

For electronics, we find a DAB / FM tuner and a CD player with slot-loading. Network functionality is handled by both Bluetooth and Wi-fi.

Manufacturer suggests a price of 2,000 UKP in England. It will certainly not be cheaper in Norway.

Link to more information from the manufacturer.
