Cary Audio is located in the edge of Raleigh in North Carolina, and has produced HighEnd since 1989. VI are especially reminiscent of the digital domain when Cary is mentioned, and now they launch a new DAC.
DAC-200ts is an advanced construction, where Cary have not found it sufficient to use only one stereo DAC chip. They have implemented four DACs with 8 channels - four per. side. The configuration is fully balanced, supplying both the XLR and RCA outputs.
DAC-200ts supports DSD and can convert it to analog without going through PCM. Further It has a 128 bits DSP engine, and handles PCM with sampling rates up to 768kHz.
TruBit ™ Upsampling
Cary Audio have the notion that upsampling must be done correctly to be successful, and have their own technology which they call TruBit ™. The aforementioned 128 bits DSP-engine can choose between 10 different sample rates, customized to source material.
A portion of the conversion concept is also OSO ™ Reclocking , a reclockingkonsept which according Cary will virtually eliminate jitter from source. For USB input the XMOS asynchronous USB interface ensures that the DAC 200ts chief watches.
DAC 200ts also integrated CSR aptX® lossless Technology for wireless transmission via bluetooth.
DiO ™ Analog Stage
DiO stands for Dual independent output, and is characteristic of a portion of Cay Audio`s structures. Separate output stages based on tubes or solid state gives the user a choice, based on their own preferences, system matching or simply adapted to the music.
Connections
Cary DAC-200ts has both RCA and XLR analog outputs, in addition to an optical and coax digital output. Of digital inputs, we find both optical, 2 coaxial and one AES EBU input.
DAC-200ts also has both WiFI and Bluetooth, and the unit has separate antennas for these purposes.
T.AA.Import
Tor Aamot behind T.AA.Import and Lyric Hifi announced a few days ago that he has regained exlusive import of Cary Audio, and is thus also an importer of Cary DAC 200ts.
