DTS:X takes up the fight against Dolby Atmos and Auro-3D

Written by

DTS launch new 3D audio format. DTS: X is similar to Dolby Atmos object-based, and the battle is a fact.

Thought you'd just leave DTS Dolby Labs and Auro Technologies to enjoy themselves alone in 3D format war? It was a little too good to be true, seen from Dolby`s and Auro`s window. And DTS seem to have a common basic philosophy with Dolby Atmos in its new audio format, in that it is object-based. DTS: X shall otherwise supersede DTS HD Master Audio.

DTS has already secured broad support among hardware manufacturers for the new format. The press release states that it is an agreement with these producers that they will launch products in 2015 with support for 3D format DTS: X:
Anthem, Denon, Integra, Krell, Marantz, McIntosh, Onkyo, Outlaw Audio, Pioneer, Steinway Lyngdorf, Theta Digital, Trinnov Audio and Yamaha. And it suggests that there is even more manufacturers in the air.

DTS is currently reticent details of DTS: X to the official launch in March 2015. Of course we will be back with more substance when it becomes available.
