Cambridge Audio with upgraded version of the Stream Magic 6.

Written by

Stream Magic 6 v2 is an upgrade of Cambridge's mid-stream.

A few years ago Cambridge Audio launched the Stream Magic 6. Now they release sequel Stream Magic v2, with greatly improved performance. It is a much more powerful streaming device that sits inside v2, compared to the original model, which means that v2 can stream at double speed compared to the outgoing model.

Stream Magic 6 v2 has both coax and optical digital input as well as USB-inputs. Since it also has a volume control, Stream Magic v2 therefore works as a complete digital preamplifier, and expands the repertoire by being able to stream sources via Bluetooth, WiFi or wired network. It takes bitrates and resolutions up to 24bit / 192kHz. Analog outputs are available as balanced- and unbalanced.

Stream Magic v2 can, like its predecessor, be controlled by a free app that may be downloaded for Android and iOS.

We do not know the price in Norway yet, but it's probably a good hint that its predecessor is at NOK 5.498, -
