In February Scottish Linn Records launches 4 new releases. They are true to their traditions and provides three of those as hybrid multichannel SACD, while the fourth is published as straight CD.

We start with the last mentioned, which is an anniversary release relating to the Scottish Chamber Orchestra's 40th anniversary. In addition to a brand new recording of Wagner's Siegfried Idyll, there is a re-release of The Tempest by Jean Sibelus and the late conductor Sir Charles Mackerràs` interpretation of Mozart's last four symphonies. The Proud Bassoon is a release by Peter Whelan. We are talking about German and French Baroque, where Whelan is a soloist with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Ensemble Marsyas. The Proud Bassoon is published in Multichannel SACD, and is otherwise available for download from MP3 to Studio Master in 192/24.

Sivan Magen is an Israeli harpist, and he stands for the album Imagination. It consists of transcriptions for harp of works composed by father and son Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Reni and Walter-Kühne.
Imagination is published on hybrid multichannel SACD, and can be downloaded in resolutions from MP3 to Studio Master in 192/24.

Perhaps the widest release of these four are Argentine Ingrid Filter's recording of Chopin's two piano concertos. She plays with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Jun Markl.
