Grappa consist of many labels, and Aurora and Simax are the two that takes care of classical and contemporary music. Aurora is certainly the company that has the most obvious contemporary profile of the two, but like music itself, there are no sharp borders.
THis is clearly illustrated in this autumn's immediate release - SEONVEH - which is music of Hvoslef, played by Stein Erik Olsen and recorded by Abbey Road Studios. We were fortunate enough to attend an early presentation of a nearly finished produced CD, played for the soloist's pupils and guitar collegues in a frantic setup in Renaissance Audio. Stein-Erik Olsen also talked abot the music, and the recording sessions. This will be released on August 14, and we will return with a full article about the release shortly.
