Onkyo tidfester Atmos-oppgraderingen + Spotify Connect.

Onkyo sender i dag ut en pressemelding som fastsetter firmwareoppdateringen som åpner for Dolby Atmos til 29.09.2014.

Det er mellomklasse receiverne Onkyo TX-NR636, TX-NR737 og TX-NR838 som får nytte av denne oppgraderingen den 29. september.  Vi har allereie satt av merke i kalenderen, og håper at vi har musikk eller film med Atmos tilgjengelig den dagen.

Det er også samtidig klart at det blir mellomklassereceiverne til Onkyo som blir først ut med Atmos, i det Toppreceiverne TX-NR1030 og TX-NR3030 i den samme pressemeldingen annonseres å være klare for utsending i midten av oktober.


Onkyo har også annonsert en softwareoppdatering som åpner for Spotify Connect i de samme receiverne, men også inkludert den mindre TX-Nr535. Spotify er allerde integrert disse recevierne, men ikke Spotify Connect. Det er ikke oppgitt om dette kommer i samme softwareodatering, eller om det blir tidligere. Dato er oppgitt til September, men uten eksakt dato.

Onkyo Adds Spotify Connect to Selected 2014-Model A/V Receivers and HTiB Packages

OSAKA, JAPAN. Home theater specialists Onkyo announce Spotify Connect integration on selected 2014-model Wi-Fi®-enabled network A/V receivers, controllers, and Home-Theater-in-a-Box (HTiB) packages, adding an exciting new dimension to its award-winning audio-video components and providing customers with a wider choice of wireless music streaming options.
Owners of the TX-NR535, TX-NR636, TX-NR737, TX-NR838, TX-NR1030, TX-NR3030, and HT-RC660 network A/V receivers; the PR-SC5530 Network A/V Controller; and the HT-S7705, and HT-S9705THX home theater packages can enable Spotify Connect via a firmware update available in September.
Spotify Premium allows subscribers to stream music to their compatible Onkyo A/V component directly from the Spotify smartphone and tablet app. As well as offering an intuitive interface from which to explore a library of over 20 million tracks, the application provides clear and simple remote control anywhere within wireless range. And because Spotify Connect is built into the receiver, subscribers are free to make calls or use other apps without interrupting music playback. The service also moves seamlessly between Wi-Fi, LAN, and 3G to ensure smooth and continuous playback with fewer dropouts.
Music lovers can try Spotify Premium free for 30 days with a monthly subscription enabling high-quality audio streaming to any compatible device as well as offline playback capability and no commercials.
