Marantz AV7702 - new Atmos compatible processor
Skrevet av Karl Erik SyltheMarantz launch the latest addition in AV processors. It's all about the Atmos-compatible processor AV7702.
We have really seen the outlines of Marantz AV7702 quite a while now. When Marantz announced the news of the AV receiver SR7009 in July ( see our article on SR7009), they simultaneously announced the arrival of the SR7702. But while the SR7009 was launched fully in July, it took a while with the official launch of the AV7702.

But now it is here, and this preamp / processor from Marantz contains really all that one could want from a modern pre / pro autumn 2014. This of course includes Dolby Atmos - AV7702 has with its 11 processing channels option to render Dolby Atmos to 7.1.4 or 9.1.2. The processor for that matter also includes two subwoofer outputs, but with the same signal on both.

Also, within the exercise wireless communication Marantz AV7702 is in on top of the situation. WiFi, AirPlay and DLNA provides a fairly complete picture. This also applies file resulotion for sreaming. where both DSD and WAW / FLAC up to 24bit / 192kHz are available. the same apply to ALAC, but with the upper limit of 24/96.
MultEQ XT32 (Pro) is handlig room correction. And if you need more than 8 in / 3 out of HDMI sockets, it is not only Marantz that has a problem.
Marantz has its own iOS / Android app for control. In addition, they have just launched a special app for Tablets, which exploits the larger surface.

Price in Norway is not known yet, but the supervising price in USA of approx $ 2000 gives reason to expect that it is somewhere between 15k and 20k NOK. Do we dare to predict 17,998?
