Classé goes Class D

The Canadian manufacturer Classé produce their first amplifier with Class D. It is the power amp CA-D200.

CA-D200 uses switch mode power supply and switch amplifier stage. Classé claims that former there has been strong limitations with this amplifier technology, limitations in practice given the need for large amounts of negative feedback. This Classé now avoid, using DSPs with processing of the signal, and thereby achieving an enhancement with minimal distortion.


 

Classé CA-D200 is an amplifier in the Delta series, and has a rated output of 2x200W into 8 ohms. The effect doubles into 4 ohms, which shows a very abundant power-supply.
