Magico A5 - new flagship model in the manufacturer's entry level range Featured
Written by Karl Erik SyltheMagico has launched a new top model in the most affordable range. A5 might be an interesting model in thissegment, that still is deep inside HighEnd territory
Magico is known for delivering HighEnd, partly into extreme HighEnd. If you are going to acquire the top model Q7 Mk2, which we wrote about almost 5 years ago, you will need to spend an amount where you can alternatively get a nice 2-room Apartment.
But fortunately there is the A-series for Magico, which has so far consisted of the standmount speaker A1 and the floor model A3, in addition to the center speaker ACC and the subwoofer ASub. And it is the A3 floor model that is now topped by an A-series flagship.

Magico A5
There are not really many similarities between the A3 and the new A5 from Magico. At least not if we concentrate on the drives. Granted, both speakers have a 28mm beryllium treble, but it stops there. For where the A3 has a 6-inch midrange and double 7-inch bass, the A5 starts with a brand new 5-inch midrange. Magico informs that this is the first time the manufacturer uses a 5-inch as a pure midrange.
The bass is a far more Heavy affair than the one we found in A3. The A5 has three 9-inches with an improved version of Magico's Graphene Nano-Tec coner.
The crossovers are supplied by German Mundorf, who is considered by many to be the leading manufacturer of HigEnd crossover.
Suggested Retail Price (US): $21,800
The A5 is expected to be available some time during Q1 2020.
Distributor Scandinavia: Audionord AB, Sweden
Norwegian dealers: Stereofil and Acoustic Tuning.
