Naim is not known for upgrading their external design of their products unnecessarily. When it comes to interior design, its a completely different story. And this time it's a significant upgrade of the power amplifiers.

Naim DR

There are two main ingredients in this upgraded series, and both are derived from the new flagship amplifier Statement. The issue that gives name to this latest upgrade is DR - Discrete Regulator . This is a technology that was introduced in Naim's series of separate power supplies, and was then implemented in the Statement amplifiers - the flagship amplifier that was introduced at last year's High End in Munich.

Naim NAP 200

NA009 Transistors

NA009 transistors has been developed in collaboration with a specialized manufacturer of semi conductors, and are being implemented in the three largest of the newly upgraded amplifiers. NAP 200 DR will not contain the new transistors, since according to Naim will not take sufficient advantage of the benefits they provide.

Naim NAP 300

Upgrading

Also existing models will be able to benefit from DR-upgrade, through an upgrade program which will be available in late 2015 or early 2016

The new models of NAP 200/250/300 will be available in June, while the new NAP 500 DR will be available in August.
