For my own part, I must admit that the previous solo release was an absolute highlight. We are talking about the disc Love me tender, which in its entirety was interpretations of Elvis tunes. Mostly daring and sometimes ingenious interpretations, complemented by sparkling sound quality on Hybrid SA-CD. On Walking in the Sun there is a different approach, in that it consists of a mixture of own songs and cover songs from the terrain around blues and gospel. And Barb Jungr is also on this release demonstrating that there is a very big range in her expression. And at the same time she also reviels that there are some expression that suits her better than others. Rainy Day is one of my favorites on this disc. A low-key blues inspired song with minimalist accompaniment where Barb shows her best sides on vocals. Also Dylan song Trouble in Mind is one of the appeals to me most at this SA-CD. Along with Blind Willie McTell this is probably a return to Dylan interpretations, which seems to be one of Barb's specialties.

I also think there is reason to highlight her own composition Beautiful Life as one of the better on this disc. The intro to Drink Me Up lightning struck in me a brief second the first time I heard it - "now she has made a frigging interpretation of Frank Zappa's Stinkfoot" But false alarm ... All in all I think that Barb Jungr not quite have managed to surpass the pinnacle Love me tender with this disc. However, there is no doubt that Walking in the Sun is one of the better releases musically. Audio performance, however if possible even a notch better on this disc than on Love me tender, despite the fact that also the latter is a disc with sound quality worth remembering. It is very well defined, and the multichannel track provides an almost intimidating presence. I think it is interesting to note that multi-channel releases from Linn Records manage to capture an individual expression that fits so well with each recording.
