Schiit Audio Yggdrasil - Multibit DAC with Closed-form filter.

Written by

The new DAC Yggdrasil from Schiit Audio promises a world novelty. It will be the world's only Closed-form multibit DAC.

Schiit Audio located in the USA, and was formed by industry veterans Jason Stoddard and Mike Moffat came from respectively Sumo and Theta. The folks at Schiit Audio are very aware of the associations the name can give, and plays on this in the marketing. But in addition to the somewhat special manufacturer name, they have obviously focused on a part of Nordic and Icelandic names. And it now newly launched DAC Yggdrasil is the most recent example.

Shiit Audio has had a special focus on headphone amplifiers, but also DACs have been important elements in the range. From before there are four DACs, with a price range from 99 USD to 749 USD. The new model Yggdrasil makes a solid leap up to $ 2,229, and will be solid flagship model.

Yggdrasil is richly endowed with connections. As many as five different digital inputs consist of optical, coax, USB, BNC and AES-EBU. Of analog outputs, you can choose between two sets RCA, and a set of XLR.

But what separates Schiit Audio Yggdrasil from all other DACs in the market is that it is a Closed-form multibit DAC. It delivers 21 bits resolution without any "guessing", to use Shiit Audio`s characteristics. If you want to know more about the technical aspects behind this recommended a visit to Schiit Audio`s websites.

Schiit Audio is distributed in Norway by Duet Audio

Price for Schiit Audio Yggdrasil is $ 2,229.
