The new integrated amplifier Parasound Halo Integrated was shown at CEDIA EXPO, and there are now several details revealed since our first reports of this interesting integrated amp from Parasound - the manufacturer that currently only has separate front and power amplifiers in the range. Our assumption that Halo Integrated had great similarities with the relatively recent preamplifier P5 is now confirmed by the manufacturer. Halo Integreted is based on P5, in combination with a power stage constructed by John Curl. But the preamp in Halo Integrated holds a few upgrades compared to P5. 

The DAC has been upgraded to now be able to play files with resolution 24bit / 192kHz also via USB. It can also play DSD files via USB. New is also that the Halo Integrated has illuminated volume control.

P5`s specialties are also retained in Halo Integrated. We're talking about analog bass manager with variable HP and LP filters, and a dedicated gain trim on the front panel. Moreover, also here in Halo Integrated we find the unique flexible HT bypass, where there also are two subwoofer inpputs. This provides a unique opportunity to integrate the signal from an AV processor / receiver with stereo + sub in stereo setup. This is a property Parasound is quite alone to hold, and has been there ever since this concept was introduced in the preamp Parasound New Classic Model 2100, which we tested here . Halo Integrated has already earned a place in our unique overview of stereo amps with HT bypass .

Parasound Halo Integrated otherwise have a defined set between Halo A21 and A23 Halo. The effect on 2x160W into 8 ohms, and 2x240 watts into 4 ohms, and High bias Class A / AB operation. Halo Integrated otherwise have one, according to Parasound oversized power supply, and both power supply and output stages are designed as dual-mono.
