Fyne Audio is a fairly fresh manufacturer based in Glasgow. But that does not mean that there are novices behind the company. The factory was started by former Tannoy employees, which is easily traced to the majority of products. Dual Consentric constructions have been a trademark of Tannoy, and also of Fyne Audio.

F1 series

The F1 series is the producers flagship series and the speakers here are really beautiful, not least the walnut models. The top model in this series is named F1-12, and was launched a year ago. It has a price tag of NOK 350,000, and thus places itself deep in HighEnd terrain.

Fyne F1-5

Now there are two smaller models in this top series being launched, both of which are standmount speakers. F1-5 is the smallest of the two. It also becomes the smallest overall in the series, and has a relatively moderate price tag. F1-5 has a five-inch IsoFlare point source driver, and a bass port that fires down via its special mini-stand that provides strong associations to a construction we've seen on Tannoy speakers. The suggested price is NOK 34.995, - .

Fyne F1-8

The second smallest model in the series is F1-8, and as you may have guessed, this has an 8-inch IsoFlare point source driver, which gives a stated frequency response of 33Hz to 34kHz (-6dB). The price for F1-8 will be slightly more than doubled, to NOK 72.500, -.

F700 series

This series is the second-top series in the Fyne Audio hierarchy. The series provides clear visual associations to the Tannoy Definition series, where we had the pleasure of being seduced during a test of what was once the top model in this series - the DC10T . In the F700 series there are three new models.

F700

The smallest model in this series is called the F700, and has an IsoFlare point source driver of 6 inches. Here, too, we find a down-firing bass port, and a frequency response of 40Hz - 34kHz 6dB. It is available in the versions Piano Gloss Walnut / Piano Gloss Black / Piano Gloss White, and has a suggested price of NOK 29.995, -.

F701

Nestemann is called the F701, and here is an eight-inch IsoFlare point source driver, and a similar bass port as a common ground. The price of F701 is NOK. 52.495, -.

F704

The biggest newcomer to the F700 series is the floor model F704. It's a 2½-way construction where the IsoFlare point source driver is a full 12 inches. This one is assisted by a 12-inch bass, and it also has downward-facing bass port. F704 has a price of NOK 135.000, -.
