Venere series is an important series for Sonus Faber in the moderate end of the price scale. The series holds two standmount speakers and two floor models, in addition to a center speaker and an OnWall model. Unlike the more expensive series of Sonus Faber is the Venere series assembled in the East, which has resulted in reduced costs. And the impression I was left with after Audun and Simen from Mono AS had a demo of Venere series and more at BMH in Bergen last spring  is that there is very much sound quality for the money in this series.

With Venere S Sonus Faber introduced a Signature model where they have brought home the production. Venere S is handmade by the manufacturer's headquarters in Arcugnano. Sonus Faber gives this model a role as an important bridge between Venere and Olympca series.

Venere S is a three-way speaker, and has been equipped with 3 x 180mm woofers with aluminum membranes, selected to provide fast bass response. The midrange is handled by a 150mm polypropylene textile cone, while the treble is a 29mm fabric dome.

It is a newly developed bass port in Venere S which is located in the cabinet`s bottom, and is oriented toward the floor. Bottom mounted reflex port is otherwise a move we recognize from Chameleon B, that we've just had in for a soon to be published review.

Crossover occurs at respectively 250 and 2,500 Hz, and is performed by crossovers with "progressive-slope". Venere S is relatively easy to drive, with a stated sensitivity of 90 dB. The frequency response is 40 to 25,000 Hz.

Sonus Faber Venere Signature will be available in white, black and walnut finish.
